Southwest (S/W)

 This area showcases many upscale neighborhoods against a proud Cheyenne Mountain. Towering Pines, majestic Aspens and abundant wildlife add to the splendor of this region. Perfectly preserved and maintained Broadmoor mansions near the five-star Broadmoor Hotel and Resort, many homes in this older area, are million dollar estates.

The Broadmoor area is one of the most picturesque areas in the region, with Cheyenne Mountain to the west. Many of the southwest neighborhoods are upscale. Mansions, estates, custom-built homes located near the five-star Broadmoor Hotel and Country Club with magnificent mountain and city views can be found throughout. Newer custom-built homes with magnificent views are located in the Spires, Broadmoor Oaks, Broadmoor Bluffs, Neal Ranch, and Broadmoor Hills line the Bluffs above the lake and golf course of The Country Club of Colorado start in the price range of $400,000 and go up with the altitude. NORAD and a new State Park (proposed for 2006) are the neighbors to the south. The stellar homes in Skyway and Stratton Forest Heights overlook downtown and backup to The North Cheyenne Canon Park and Bear Creek Canyon Park. On the east side of Highway 115 in the foothills, are the areas of Cheyenne Meadows and Cheyenne Hills, which also offer views of Cheyenne Mountain.

 These areas lie below the Broadmoor area, are generally more affordable. This whole area is tucked up against Cheyenne Mountain, which also offers many tourist attractions. One can still find some town homes, condos and some smaller single-family houses available in this area.

The areas sought after school district 12, roughly described: draws its lines west of Hwy 115, and south of Bear Creek Regional Park all the way to the rocky face of the mountain.  Amazing rock formations, pristine foliage, lovely lakes and cascading waterfalls are co-mingled throughout these neighborhoods.  The Southwest offers convenience to downtown, Fort Carson, and Cheyenne Mountain. The Broadmoor Hotel, a five-star resort, is the focal point of the Southwest.
