East
| There
is land as far as the eye can see to the east. Thousands of acres have been developed over
the past two decades. Marksheffel Road, about eight miles east of downtown Colorado
Springs, represents the current limits of cohesive development activity. The Powers
Boulevard Corridor extends from Peterson Air Force Base and the municipal airport on the
south to the Black Forest on the north. Well beyond the city limits, about five miles farther east, are the small towns of Peyton and Falcon where people prefer living in or near these small communities where the cost of land is lower and the country environment dominates. Major Subareas: Colorado Country, Country Club Estates, Heathercrest, Old Farm, Rustic Hills, Village Seven, Villa Loma, Conover, Century Heights, Aspen Valley, Sunset Park, Eastmoreland, Smartts, Northglen Park, Wasson, Treasure Hills, Lindale, Austin Estates, Aspen Valley, Rustic Hills, Paseo, Candlewood, Palmer Heights, Homestead, Highland, Heathercrest, Northridge, Willow Run, Northglen, The Ridge, Chaparral Ridge, Village Heights, Highland Park, Palmer Park, Solar Ridge, Starwatch, Park Vista, Sand Creek, the Bluffs, Maizeland Moors, Bridlewood, San Luis Estates, Fairway Village, St. Andrews, Northglen Heights |
